Everything you need to know about using Glance
1. Create an Account
Visit the registration page and create your account with your email and password. You'll be automatically logged in after registration.
2. Access Your Dashboard
After logging in, you'll see your devices dashboard where you can manage all connected devices.
3. Connect Your First Device
Click "Add Device" to start the device authorization flow and connect your Apple Watch or other devices.
Glance uses device authorization flow to securely connect your Apple Watch without requiring your password. Follow these steps to get started:
Step 1: Start on Your Watch
Open the Glance app on your Apple Watch. The app will automatically connect to the server and request a device authorization code.
Make sure your Apple Watch is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or paired iPhone.
Step 2: Note Your Code
A 6-digit numeric code will appear on your watch screen. This code is unique to your device and expires after a few minutes for security.
The code format is: 123456 (6 digits, numbers only)
Step 3: Open Dashboard
On your computer or phone, log in to your Glance dashboard and click "Add Device" or navigate directly to the "Activate Device" page.
You must be logged in to approve device connections.
Step 4: Enter Code
Type the 6-digit code from your watch into the activation form. The code must match exactly.
If you make a mistake, the form will shake and show an error message. Simply correct the code and try again.
Step 5: Activate
Click "Activate Device" to complete the connection. The dashboard will verify the code and authorize your Apple Watch.
Your watch will receive confirmation and automatically start syncing.
Success!
Your Apple Watch is now securely connected to your Glance account. It will appear in your devices list where you can rename it or revoke access at any time. The watch will maintain its connection until you explicitly revoke it or the session expires.
Security Note
Your Apple Watch never sees or stores your password. The device authorization flow ensures secure connections without exposing your credentials. Each code is single-use and time-limited.
Rename Devices
Click the Actions menu on any device and select "Rename" to give your device a custom name for easier identification.
Revoke Access
Click the Actions menu and select "Revoke" to immediately disconnect a device and end its session. The device will need to be re-authorized to connect again.
Current Session
Your current active session is marked with a badge and cannot be revoked. You must use a different session to revoke your current one.
- Never share your device authorization codes with others
- Regularly review your connected devices and revoke unused ones
- Use a strong, unique password for your account
- Enable two-factor authentication if available
- Log out from shared or public devices
Device code expired
Device codes expire after a few minutes. Simply restart the app on your Apple Watch to generate a new code.
Invalid code error
Make sure you're entering the exact 6-digit code shown on your watch. Codes are case-sensitive and must be entered exactly as displayed.
Connection issues
Ensure both your Apple Watch and dashboard have internet connectivity. Check the API status indicator in the footer to verify service availability.
Device not appearing
After successful activation, refresh your devices page. If the device still doesn't appear, try revoking and re-authorizing it.
